SPED 504: Examines a collaborative approach to providing academic supports to learners in a multi-tiered model. Reviews sources of scientifically based instructional strategies; progress monitoring techniques; and the partnership between general education teachers, special education teachers, and parents.
SPED 493: Supporting Diverse Learners Through Collaboration.
Focuses on collaboration among the general educators, special educators and other education specialists to meet the needs of diverse learners in the classroom. The course will use a case study approach to emphasize teaming skills necessary for effective decision making, selection of evidence based practices and implementation of a school-wide prevention models. The course uses RTI as the framework for collaboration and data based decision making.
